Fred Harrison Daily Mail Interview

The Daily Mail interviews Fred Harrison on how many people incorrectly predicted that house prices will fall amidst the pandemic. Most expert minds like Knight Frank predicted property prices would fall 7%, while Savills forecasted a 10% fall. Even gloomier, The Bank of England predicted that house prices in Britain would fall 16% due to the coronavirus economic crash. Unlike the others, Fred Harrison, who correctly predicted both the 2008 and 1990 property crashes, predicted that house prices would continue upwards before crashing in 2026.

Here are some topics covered in the interview:

  1. The 18-year property cycle theory
  2. What drives the house price cycle?
  3. Could COVID-19 impact the 18-year cycle?
  4. Where are we in the cycle?
  5. When will the next crash happen?
  6. What will cause the market to crash?
  7. What would stop a crash from happening in 2026?
